What are Win32 and .NET?

i've been looking into how to make GUI apps in C++ and lots of websites talk about Win32 and .NET but i dont know what that is. i know how to make CLR console apps in c++ but thats it. where can i learn about these things and how to ue them? i can only find a book about Win32 and C, but I obviously want to use C++
