To the end of the world.?

if there are animals that survive in the end-of-the-world situation, then i see no reason why humans should not also have survived. The humans that survive will probably be reduced to primitive nomads, but as long as there are animals, i see no reason why humans should only die. So, i think that the end of the world means ALL life (complex life, simple bacterias and stuff dont count) being destroyed.
