Have a new dvd camcordr w/ no usb and want to mix in video from old vid tapes.HELP what steps/equip do i need

it is a hitachi dvd cam, the older cettes(about the size of a deck of cards) are from a sony handycam and I just want to make some xmas present dvds or cds(??) of new and old family video w/ music etc...I am so lost!
