Dont you think the Hindu concept of rebirth sounds more rewarding than everlasting life?

No! It involves repeated birth, aging, sickness and death. That is why the Buddha used the idea of reincarnation as a metaphor for suffering and all the mental turmoil we go through. He referred to overcoming the grasping that warps our view and causes misery as overcoming, or escaping from the cycle of, birth and death. I would almost rather have everlasting life than constantly recurring life.
